Brightline Travel Review Orlando to Miami Roundtrip

Brightline Orlando Station - Train Boarding

I recently took the Brightline from Orlando to Miami to get to the Port of Miami for a cruise ship tour aboard the Celebrity Beyond. I wanted a stress-free, relaxing ride instead of driving, and I thought it would be helpful to share an honest review of my experience so you’ll have a clear idea of what to expect.

Brightline Orlando Station at MCO

Checking in at the Orlando Brightline Station took only a minute or two, making for a smooth and easy start to the journey. Prebooking both the tickets and parking was simple and straightforward, which made the entire process even smoother. With everything arranged in advance, it was just a matter of arriving, parking, and heading right inside for a very quick and easy ride.

The station itself is conveniently located at Orlando International Airport (MCO), which makes it especially accessible for travelers. They even have a dedicated parking garage right next to the terminal, adding another layer of convenience for those driving in.

Since I had booked a Premium Cabin, I had access to the Premium Lounge, located just to the right of the Mary Mary bar. The lounge was not too busy and offered a comfortable space to relax before boarding. They served a nice variety of snacks and drinks, including beer on tap, a soda bar, coffee, and tea. For light bites, there were hot meatballs with breadsticks, cheeses, macaroni salad, and vegetable crudité. A dessert bar rounded things out with cookies, brownies, chocolate, pretzels, and M&Ms.

Boarding was extremely easy, and I quickly found my seat without any hassle. The Premium Cabin is designed with flexibility in mind. Seating is arranged across three seats, with options that allow for different travel styles. You can choose a single seat on your own, which is what I did, or sit as a pair. There are also table setups where two passengers can sit facing each other (1 and 1), perfect for traveling partners, as well as four person arrangements (2 and 2) for groups or families.

Our train was scheduled to depart at 4:50 PM, and we departed exactly on time, Brightline is known for being punctual. The train will not wait for late arrivals, so being on time is essential.

Brightine Onboard Experience

About twenty minutes after departure, the onboard service began with a round of snacks and drinks. They offered a fun selection of treats, including popcorn, pretzels, Pringles, and gummy bears. Drink service included sodas, water, beer, wine, hard seltzers, and cocktails, giving passengers plenty of choices whether they wanted something refreshing or something stronger to enjoy the ride.

Shortly after that first service, the attendants came back through with more substantial options. Passengers were given a choice between a mini Cuban sandwich with chips or a salad accompanied by fruit and hummus. It was a nice touch that made the Premium Cabin feel more like a well rounded travel experience rather than just a seat on a train.

Throughout the ride, our car attendant circled back regularly, offering beverages and snacks roughly every thirty minutes or so. The attentive service helped the journey feel relaxed and unhurried, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy refreshments along the way.

The train made stops at each station along the route, and both the departures and reboardings were smooth and efficient. After each stop, additional food options were offered to passengers. Selections included salami and cheese rolls along with a variety of snack pack items, keeping the ride well supplied with refreshments from start to finish.

On the journey from Orlando to Miami, Brightline stopped at its South Florida stations in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura. Each stop was handled smoothly and efficiently, with only a brief pause. The timing was just long enough for passengers to step off and new travelers to board, keeping the trip relaxed yet right on schedule.

Brightline Miami Station

We arrived at the Miami Station at 8:15 PM, right on schedule after a smooth ride down the line. After arrival, it was just a quick walk downstairs to the exit, where a designated pickup area was located right outside the door. I requested an Uber, which arrived quickly, and from there I headed to the Tru by Hilton Miami Brickell. The ride took only about fifteen minutes, making for a seamless transition from train to hotel.

Returning to the Brightline station in Miami was just as smooth as the first time. The entrance and boarding process were straightforward, and it was easy to navigate the terminal and find the correct train. The atmosphere was busy but efficient, with plenty of staff available to help guide travelers.

I also had access to the Premium Lounge, which was comparable to the one in Orlando but with a local twist. Instead of warm meatballs and breadsticks, the Miami lounge offered fajita meat, rice, and sweet plantains, a nice nod to its South Florida roots.
