I recently had the chance to go aboard the Royal Caribbean Star of the Seas for a full ship tour, and it was a great opportunity to explore the amenities and learn more about what this ship offers. Walking through each neighborhood and visiting the different dining areas, pools, and entertainment spaces gave me a good sense of what guests can expect. I am glad to be able to share this information so you can plan your own time at sea with confidence.
The Grove – Suite Sun Deck
Our tour began at The Grove, a beautiful sun deck reserved just for Suite guests. This peaceful area features a sparkling pool, a relaxing whirlpool, and comfortable loungers perfect for soaking up the Florida sunshine. Guests also enjoy exclusive food and drink service, a wonderful perk for those seeking privacy and comfort.
Tip: Consider upgrading to a Suite stateroom for access to this tranquil retreat.
Coastal Kitchen
Next, we visited Coastal Kitchen, a sleek, exclusive restaurant for suite guests and Pinnacle members. The menu blends Mediterranean and California flavors, and the dining room overlooks the Aqua Theater, offering incredible views during mealtime.
Tip: Consider upgrading to a Suite stateroom for access to this exceptional dining experience.
Cloud 17 & Swim & Tonic
Cloud 17 on the Star of the Seas is a beautiful open-air pool and relaxation area on deck 17. It features a lovely infinity-edge pool, a whirlpool, and easy access to the Lime and Coconut bar. While it once served as an adults-only space, it is now open to families and offers comfortable loungers, daybeds, and peaceful ocean views for everyone to enjoy. Adjacent is Swim & Tonic, an adults-only swim-up bar where you can enjoy a cocktail while floating in the pool.
Tip: Head to Swim & Tonic for a peaceful escape and an ocean view with your drink.
Aquadome Market
Inside the Aquadome Market, guests can sample five unique dining concepts under one roof, which is included with your cruise fare. With views of the ocean and the Aqua Theater, this market offers everything from comfort food to international bites, all casual and delicious.
Tip: Great for sampling several cuisines in one sitting.
The Aquadome & Overlook
We then explored the Aquadome, one of the ship’s most breathtaking areas. The floor-to-ceiling glass dome offers panoramic views by day and hosts stunning nighttime shows. The entire Aquadome shines in shades of blue, silver, and gold, creating a refined yet calming ambiance that perfectly complements the ocean views. The Overlook provides cozy seating and the one of the best places to relax with coffee or a drink while watching the sea roll by.
Hooked Seafood Restaurant
Just beyond the Aquadome is Hooked, serving New England–style seafood favorites. A cool feature is the high-top bar seating with USB chargers, perfect for recharging both your devices and yourself while enjoying the Aqua Show. Hooked also features a private table for 12, ideal for celebrations or corporate incentive dinners.
Tip: Reserve early. Hooked fills quickly and offers great group options.
Seven Pools on Five Decks
With seven pools spread across five decks, the Star of the Seas offers plenty of places to cool off and unwind. None of the pools are very large, but each one provides a relaxing spot to enjoy the sunshine and take a refreshing swim. The main pools are lively and fun for families, while quieter areas like The Hideaway give adults a peaceful place to rest. You will also find whirlpools tucked throughout the ship and comfortable seating nearby. No matter what kind of day you are having, there is always a pool waiting for you to enjoy.
Sprinkles
Sprinkles is a favorite stop, tucked right into the Surfside neighborhood on deck 7. It serves soft serve ice cream all day, making it the perfect place to cool off between activities or enjoy a sweet treat anytime. It is simple, fun, and always a hit with kids and adults alike.
The Hideaway – Adults Only
We made a stop at The Hideaway, a peaceful space reserved for guests eighteen and older. It offers a lovely pool, hot tubs, and a full bar where you can enjoy a quiet drink with a beautiful view. Private daybeds are available to rent, and they come with a bottle of champagne which adds a nice touch of celebration to the day.
It is an excellent spot for couples or anyone who wants a break from the busy areas of the ship. If you are hoping for a little calm and a chance to unwind, this is a place worth visiting.
Tip: Perfect for couples or anyone craving quiet time away from the crowds.
Category 6 Waterpark
The ship’s Category 6 Waterpark offers six water slides, splash zones, and the FlowRider surf simulator, all included in your cruise fare. It’s the largest waterpark at sea and perfect for thrill-seekers.

Throughout the voyage, the Windjammer keeps plenty of variety on hand. There are several specialty stations, allergen friendly options, fresh salad bar (not as many options as some other Royal ships), burger bars, and a generous dessert section. It is a great spot for families when you want a meal without a long wait. It has a familiar, easygoing atmosphere that makes it simple to relax and enjoy a good plate of food.
Vitality at Sea Spa & Café
The Vitality at Sea Spa and Café offers a peaceful break from the busier parts of the ship. Whether you want a relaxing massage, a refreshing facial, or a place to sit with a light breakfast or smoothie, this area gives you a steady sense of calm. The atmosphere feels thoughtful and unhurried, which is a welcome change of pace on a cruise.
You will also find a well equipped fitness center nearby, making it easy to keep familiar routines while you travel. Many guests enjoy starting their day here before heading off to explore the rest of the ship. It is a space that encourages you to slow down, take care of yourself, and enjoy the small moments that make a trip feel both restful and memorable.
Tip: Book spa appointments early and treat yourself to a smoothie afterward.
Lincoln Park Supper Club
The Lincoln Park Supper Club is one of the most unique dining experiences on the ship. It carries the charm of a classic supper club with a warm, relaxed atmosphere that feels both special and familiar. It is tucked away behind a simple floor sign, giving it a hidden speakeasy style when you arrive.
This exclusive restaurant features an eight course menu that takes about two and a half to three hours to enjoy, and it begins at two hundred dollars per person with occasional promotions available. The dishes are beautifully prepared and include elevated comfort foods, steaks, seafood, and rich sides that reflect a thoughtful, traditional approach to dining.

Real greenery, winding pathways, and gentle music create a calm atmosphere that feels far removed from the bustle of the decks around it. It is a great spot for a slow stroll or a quiet moment with a cup of coffee.
